It was one year ago as we came out of COVID restrictions that the first General Meeting was held and our President Wendy Schmidt was presented with the Legionnaire of the Year Award by Zone Commander Bill Higden.
The award was well deserved as the many volunteer hours she has devoted to the Branch over the years and during trying times has been a key factor in its survival .

Branch 15 Royal Canadian Legion Honours and Awards luncheon was held Sunday March 26. The ceremony was well attended and due to the fact that an awards ceremony has not been held for several years because of the COVID restrictions, there were many service pins that were overdue.
President Wendy Schmidt presided assisted by First Vice President Kelly Watson. Many pins for service from 5 year levels to as high as 50 years were presented. For those who could not attend, the pins can be picked up at the branch, or they can be mailed to you.
A luncheon was held after the presentations and a fine afternoon of socializing was appreciated by all. Many thanks to all who volunteered time to prepare our meals and to Lepp’s Market, across the road from the Legion, for sandwiches and cookies.
As well as service pins, a plaque was presented to Cindy Boury who is a very generous supporter of our Legion every year. Cindy’s brother, Joe Iten, was present and received his service pin.
